Position overview:
As a dormakaba senior systems engineer, you are a trusted pillar within of our new product design team, researching, defining, and executing on new smart lock and door security hardwareAs a senior systems engineer, you shape the customer experience by translating the needs of the customer into engineering activitiesYou will research customer needs and company capabilities, mapping teams and engineering functions against features and releases that enable the next generation of smart and secure access control solutionsThis role also bridges across mechanical, electrical, firmware and software agile programs, so you will adopt agile definitions and methodologies to assure proper stories and backlog priorities to match up with end customer needs and market requests.

Primary duties:
Creates high-level architectures for new products, assigning specific technical requirements to sw, fw, mechanical and electrical design aspects
Manages and monitors deployed systems and infrastructure
Performs full product life cycle development tasks
Assists project/product level estimation, tracking, planning, and scope definition
Takes ownership of various software components
Identifies, executes, and communicates process and system improvement ideas
Participates in system level and company level communities of practice
Documents system level architecture and functionality
Supports and collaborates with software q/a, electrical, and 3rd party entities
Defines customer needs and functionality in an installation and service development cycle
Critical success factors:
Ability to work with multiple engineering disciplines to identify technical product requirements and characteristics
Ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders
Ability to troubleshoot/debug issues in a production and development environment
Comfortable working with electronic devices during system level validation
Ability to work in small teams in a fast-paced business environment
Requirements:
B.sIn computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline
3 - 7 years of relevant work experience
Solid understanding of cloud and device architectures for micro-services
Experience working with saas
Experience with service-oriented architecture
Basic understanding of various cryptographic techniques
Desired qualifications:
Experience working and designing various api management platforms
Experience working with aws, mongodb, and other iot based saas platforms
Full stack software development experience
Experience with project management tools such as confluence, jira, bitbucket.
Proficiency in scripting with bash, python, and other relevant scripting languages
Demonstrated proficiency working with linux around headless centos/debian/ubuntu distros in build and runtime environments
Experience with virtual machine environments
Experience with physical access control systems
