Position overview
Young company looking for a data analystYou will not be joining a teamYou will be the data analytics guru and report directly to the ceoThere is no hand-holding and the candidate is expected to have a deep and thorough understanding of data analytics.
We`re seeking someone who is very data-driven and possesses strong analytical skills so as to draw sharp insights and actionable from data.
The data includes sales and inventory data as well as operations dataYou will have a data warehouse (under construction) to work with, but the specific tools you use are open for discussion.
The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisionsWe need someone to help develop analysis and reporting capabilitiesThey will monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
Responsibilities
Collect data from internal and 3rd party resources
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
Build time-series forecasting models to predict optimal inventory levels with the ability to backtest assumptions
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Skills
Sql and excel are fundamentalWe`re open to hearing what tools we should be using to achieve what we`re trying to do.
Proven working experience as a data analyst
Degree from mathematics, analytics and/or computer science fields
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
