About the team and role
As theskimm`s communications manager, you will create and execute communications strategies to promote theskimm brandYou have a passion for media relations, creative storytelling and an innovative approach to communications, thinking outside the box and embracing non-traditional pr channelsYou will manage press relations, draft materials, staff interviews, and maintain comprehensive media listsYou have the ability to be thoughtful and strategic while simultaneously executing and producing results in a fast-paced environment.
What you`ll be doing
Leveraging non-traditional press channels and strategic influencer engagement to increase brand awareness
Producing proactive and dynamic pitches to elevate theskimm brand and supporting key company initiatives, content, and business objectives
Drafting high quality written material, press releases, pitches, messaging, q&as, and briefings to support press interviews
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with editors, reporters, and producers across consumer and business press
Maintaining press contacts and clips, conference calendars and crafting award submissions
Developing thought leadership opportunities (including panels, op-eds, social)
Assisting on ad-hoc special projects and supporting internal communications
Working cross-functionally with internal teams to support content, campaigns, and events
What will set you up for success
3-5 years of experience in public relations or communications; agency experience a plus
Strong writing skills and an eye for detail
Keen understanding of the media landscape
Self-starter attitude with a demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects under pressure
Bachelor`s degree

This is a full-time role with flexibility for remote workOur office is currently closed due to the covid-19 pandemic and our employees are working remotelyWe are aiming to re-open our beautiful office in january 2022When we do return, our workforce will be a hybrid model, meaning we will have employees in the office as well as employees working from homeWe`re still finalizing exactly what that will look like!
We will require vaccinations for anyone coming to our officeWe are following cdc recommendations for any additional boosters, and will always follow cdc and ny state guidance on wearing masks in the office.
